MUA "Heaven and Earth" Palette Review

I am a HUGE fan of MUA products! They're cheap and good quality. I recently bought the Heaven and Earth Palette for only £4! This palette is made up of 12 neutral shades. All the shades have a subtle shimmer to them. Plus it comes with a double ended eye shadow brush!
Shade 1 is perfect for highlighting on the brow bone! The other shades are perfect for a natural looking smoky eye. My favourite shades from this palette are 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12. The eye shadows are pigmented, easy to blend and long lasting! I would highly recommend this palette to anyone that wears eye shadow on a day-to-day basis!

Jemma Kidd Goodies!

Yesterday I decided to have a quick look in TK Maxx to see if they had any good deals on makeup. Straight away some Jemma Kidd products caught my eye. I bought an eyeshadow and a lipstick for £4.99. Both of these products normally retail at £10+ each.

Jemma Kidd Eyeshadow: Must Have (08)
This eyeshadow is a very strong navy blue colour. It is easy to blend and looks good incorporated into a smoky eye! It has a lovely shimmer to it so is ideal for an evening makeup look.

Jemma Kidd Lipstick Duo: Sophia (13)
This lipstick duo is AMAZING! One side is a balm and the other is the colour (Sophia is a bright red lipstick). The balm primes the lips and makes it easier to apply the colour, It also stops the colour from becoming flaky and dry. You apply the balm first then apply the lipstick over the top.

Leopard Print Makeup

I absolutely love leopard print and love to incorporate it in different make-up. The other night I decided to have a little play about with leopard print and I created this look:
I used MUA's undressed palette on the eyes (I reviewed this product on a previous post) and then using Kryolan Cake Eyeliner in black I created flicked eyeliner on the top lash line and the leopard print. I applied false eyelashes by Eldora, and then created a glossy red lip (Rimmel lipstick and Red Herring gloss over the top)
Just a simple look that I thought I'd share with you!

Illamasqua

My first ever buy of Illamasqua makeup was at IMATS in London (International Makeup Artist Trade Show) I hadn't really heard of this brand before. Since then, I've been stocking up on my Illamasqua goodies always looking at new products that they have!

These are my Illamasqua pencils, I currently have 5 of them and they retail at £13 each. These can be used on the eyes and on the lips. These are highly pigmented and they stay on for hours!

I also have a foundation (LF 140) and the Illumine Oil (Volt) by Illamasqua. Unfortunately, both of these products have now been discontinued. There are products on the Illamasqua website similar to the Liquid Light Foundation. Both of these products retailed at £25. The foundation gives a light coverage and is long lasting. The Illumine Oil can be used as a base or on top of as foundation. It gives a shimmery, light-reflecting finish.

1950's inspired!

I have always loved make-up and hairstyles from the Fifties. One of the most iconic women from the 1950's is Marilyn Monroe. She always wore her famous red lip, cat-eye flicked eye liner, and strong brows.
I re-created the 1950's makeup look and tried out some different hairstyles that fit the era.
For this look I used:
- Illamasqua Illumine Oil
- Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation (LF 140)
- MUA Pressed Powder (Shade 1)
- MUA Blusher (Shade 6)
- Collection 2000 Liquid Eyeliner (Black)
- MUA Matte Eyeshadow (Brown)
- False Eyelashes by Eldora
- Benefit High Beam (1C1A)
- Rimmel Extreme Black Volume Flash Mascara
- Illamasqua Pencil (Feisty)
- Rimmel Lipstick (Holler 085)
- Red Herring Lip Gloss (Red)
I curled my hair with straighteners and then brushed the curls out softly. I tried different hair styles incorporating a red bandanna (bought off eBay for £1!)
Here's the finished look!

Nails: Black & Teal

I decided that I wanted to create a simple but statement look on my nails. To do this I used:
- Barry M nail paint in 'Aqua Glitter' (231)
- ELF nail varnish in 'Black' (#D19)
- Barry M Top coat in 'Clear' (54)
- Nail gem wheel containing teal coloured gems
To begin I applied a base coat to my nails, the top coat by Barry M doubles up as a basecoat so it's a really good nail varnish to have. Once that'd dried, I then applied ELF's Black polish to my nails leaving out the ring finger on both hands. I applied two coats of the black.

To the ring finger I applied one coat of Aqua Glitter, once dry I added another coat and immediately started to add the gems on top of the nail varnish as it acts like a glue when wet. To apply the gems I used a small amount of blue tac on the end of an orange wood stick (wooden cuticle pusher).
When I had finished applying the gems I applied a top coat to all my nails and left them to dry. This nail design is quite time-consuming when you apply the gems but it looks really effective once finished!

bareMinerals

I've always wanted to try bareMinerals makeup, but could never afford to buy myself a set. For my 19th birthday I received the bareMinerals get started set in medium.

This set includes:
- Original SPF 15 Foundation in Medium (C25)
Original SPF 15 Foundation in Medium Beige (N20)
- Original Mineral Veil
- Warmth All-Over Face Colour
- Full Flawless Face Brush
- Flawless Application Face Brush
- Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush
- Prime Time Foundation Primer
-Get Started DVD

I found this set in Harvey Nicholls for £49, although you can buy it online for cheaper (usually £30+)
BareMinerals claims to cover redness, rosacea, acne, breakouts, dark circles and uneven skin tone. I have used it several times; it does cover dark circles very easily, although, when I use this on breakouts it doesn't work wonders like it says it does. For everything else it claims to cover, it does!
The bareMinerals foundation comes in a powder form, but once it is applied to the skin it has a cream-like texture. It makes the skin feel soft and smooth and gives an even, natural finish.
I would recommend this to people who like to wear make-up that doesn't look too heavy and gives a natural, healthy glow.
